The day after.......

Tuesday June 28 - July 1 2011
After all the fun and excitement of the wedding the previous day, of course the day after was planned as a day of no plans! And what better way to start the day off than all meeting for yet another scrummy Novotel buffet breakfast. Yes even the bride and groom joined us :-).
After brekky a quick wander along Jalan Pratama with some family and friends who sadly have to leave tomorrow.
Then back to laze about at the villa, ahh :-)

Here it is!!

Now lets's walk through the villa to see the view from the other side.........

Looking back across the lawn to the pool, one of the pool bales
and oh look, a pot of daisies and some lanterns left from the night before.
The lawn area was where the wedding was set up.

How good is the view from this pool?!

http://www.novotelbalibenoa.com/ - Check out this link to the Novotel Benoa. A photo of this pool is the first photo to come up. Stunning. It also gives a good insight into the whole resort. We loved it even though we generally wouldn't choose a large resort. The way it is set out, especially on the beach side, you get more of a feel like you are at smaller, more intimate resort.

The morning after the night before
doesn't look so bad!

Oh look, a shopping opportunity or a cheap massage
just a step away

Some of the group opted for shopping in Kuta/Legian. Not for the parents of the Bride. A day to recharge!!
Now as quite a few were already going to be nearby, it was decided that the place for dinner was Poco Loco. With such a huge choice of restaurants in Tanjung Benoa, I was disappointed but it was more important to share the last night together as a group.
Having been invited to the manager's cocktail party, we decided to meet everyone at the restaurant in time for dinner. Good plan. A couple of happy hour drinks by the pool before heading to the cocktail party (we had been invited to one of these in Langkawi but missed it due to a pre-arranged trip) and then a taxi to Poco Loco.

Our cute happy hour cocktail at Novotel
So, can you guess how long it took to get to Poco Loco???? 2 Hours!!!!! Yep, 2 hours - knew the traffic was heavy due to it being school holidays in Indonesia but this was ridiculous. The boys had had a couple of drinks, so they had made sure they had a toilet stop before the taxi arrived. Sitting stuck in traffic our poor friend in the front seat couldn't hang on another minute longer!! Poor taxi driver had to manoeuvre his way over to the side of the road at a spot where there might just be a tree nearby!! Well that was better.
Finally arriving at Poco Loco to find that the group were seated at 2 separate tables - on opposite sides of the restaurants. Most of the group had ordered and were having their meals brought to the tables when we finally arrived. Not what we had envisaged after a 2 hour trip. There was only one table being used upstairs, so why they wouldn't put the group there so we could all be together is beyond me. Disappointing attitude from Poco Loco, especially as 1/2 the group had been there the previous week and had the usual great night.
So we ate and everyone else had well and truly finished and were ready to go. No time to mingle and enjoy the last night, very disappointing. So, back in the taxi to Tanjung Benoa with it's myriad of restaurants that were yet to try - another trip (now that's the bright side, a reason for another trip to Bali ;-) ). Of course the traffic on the return trip was negligible and we were back at the Novotel in no time.
Time to enjoy our beautiful room for the last night.

Our own little oasis

The Bathroom was my favourite part of our room
along with our own little private entry gate and garden
